I'd get a reg compressor and it will do other household/shop things too. http://search.harborfreight.co...tom=0

Even in the reg.size compressors I would look for a oiless model, I've never used a airbrush specific compressor but I don't think I would like them as I like more psi capability than 40

Oiless compressors are handy and portable but they are noisy to the extreme. If your looking for compressors have them plug in a display model before you buy.

Oiless do make a bit more noise but you do not have to worry about changing oil or leaks latter in life. If you are not going to use it in a everyday (shop) atmosphere I would just go for the oiless. I have a sears 125 psi and I can work on cars, spay paint, nailer, stapler and other jobs around the house with it just fine. Of course sears came out with the 150 psi just after I bought mine but it works for me.

On the other hand if this is going to be soemthing that is ran on a day in day out use then I would pay the extras bucks for the oiled machine. It will with stand the hard use better.

    Re: Oiless Compressor? (epicextreme)

I JUST bought a compressor today for airbrushing. I've never used a brush before this afternoon but I just bought a cheap airbrush from harbor freight and this air compressor: http://www.harborfreight.com/c...90168

I make spinnerbaits, and im working on some custom jobs so I wanted to try paint instead of powder. I painted a dozen or so up tonight. No pictures yet, they are drying, and once I build a drying wheel i'll get them finished and posted.
