In my opinion if you plan on making jigheads without a brush/weed guard or put the brush guard in last..go with dipping them. however, if your like myself and want the brushguard molded into the head, you need to handpaint them. handpainting jig head/spinnerbait heads is not bad at all. i can paint about 75 in an hour. let dry for a couple of hours and then apply one more coat and im done. i always go with Poly-Sil paint. It's a great paint from Lurecraft.com. The paint is very good stuff and won't chip off. Use 4parts paint to 1 part catalyst, and just a drop of hardner. i usually use a pop bottle cap to put my paint, catalyst and the drop of hardner in it and that will paint me about 75 jigs. it goes along ways, they sell it in 4oz bottles and up. but there is a hazardous shipping fee because of flammability. IM me or email me for more help! best of luck!!!![]()
of course then again im only speaking for jigs/spinnerbaits...you could be talking about cranks,...then i'm clueless..![]()
I'll be painting crankbaits. What would you guys recomend?

i buy my createx at hobby lobby. thin coats brushed on. slow turn
I use Folk Art acrylic paint from Michaels craft store... They also sell the envirotex lite that I use for the finish.
Folk art has the highest pigment for this type of craft paint.

Brush on the epoxy and put the lure on a dryer/turner.

I believe you can do either If you are going to use devcon than you want the 30 minute kind ( wal -mart quit carring it) I use Dick nite finish. I use apple barn and folk art paints myself.
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!
Does Walmart carry that Dick Nite clearcoat?
