    Very nice.

I have a few questions for you, hope you don't mind answering.
What kind of clear coat did you use?

Where did you get the silver foil I saw on some of your crankbaits on Shutterfly?
And where did you get the clear blanks for the Ghost versions on Shutterfly? Those were pretty cool. I have stripped down a few old baits that are clear to play with but it would be nice to have some new blanks.

Re: Blue shad H2o bait (senkoman)

Most of the clear ones were stripped by hand, the Normans actually make a clear bait along with some other manufacturers.

    Clear coat... Dicknites

Foil is the cheapest kitchen foil you can find(it's cheaper usually because it's thinner) Reynolds wrap can be used but weighs alot and is thick

Excuse a newbie at this sort of thing, but what is Dicknites? Could you be a little more specific please? Thanks!!

Back years ago we use to use the foil wrapper off of Juicy Fruit chewing gum for the foil baits.. It works great...

Re: Blue shad H2o bait (ReelDoc)

To find out about DickNites you might want to try the Hardbaits thread on theTackleUnderground website.

Basically a brand of clear finish available online. Some brush it on, some dip the lure. I have not tried it yet but I am going to switch to it or an automotive clear product that can be sprayed on. Both have UV protection.

If you decide to buy any use the link from TackleUnderground because it will be cheaper.

Re: Blue shad H2o bait (ReelDoc)

Jim Dicknites is a one part moisture cured polyurethane(solvent based), IMHO it's one of the toughest clears available I think it's better than the epoxys.Like mentioned it can be sprayed, dipped or brushed on.It has a couple of downfalls....lifespan,fumes,cure times....it's loses it's tackiness after an hour or so and is probably fishable after 24 hrs but takes around ten days to reach it's full hardness
