i've used the batson rainshadow e glass blanks and had great luck out of them the Number on the blanks are spg843- spg844 - spg845 med med-hvy hvy
I don't have much experience with E-glass. If you are looking for a glass cranking rod I would suggest the Seeker BS706. The S glass version is just a great all around moving bait blank. I havent used the E glass version, but from what I understand it is better suited for lighter lures, but still a good blank for moving baits.
I have a BS706 Eglass and it is the ticket for small cranks. Very soft tip to keep the fish buttoned. It has some good uses and mainly use it throwing wiggle warts or small bandits. I use the same rod but S glass for large cranks and spinners.
E-glass is a lower modulus material than S-glass. As the other guys have mentioned, it will typically have a softer action, thus making it ideal for the smaller cranks.
The Seeker BS 706 in S-glass is one of my favorites and one I sell a lot of. For all around moving bait applications such as cranks, lipless cranks, etc., that rod is hard to beat. It is only available as a blank, so you'll have to have someone build the rod for you.
Seeker also makes the BS 706 in E-glass. It is built on the same mandrel, just a different material. This is the "standard" glass blank with S-glass being "special order". If you'd like to purchase a either Seeker glass blank, you can purchase them through Anglers Workshop in Woodland, WA.
Either of those blanks will weigh 3.0-3.2 oz. Not bad compared to some of the older style glass blanks. The Lamiglas Skeet Reese Series MB 841 E is another one I'd recommend as a glass blank. It has a bit softer action than the Seekers.
Hope that helps........George
