Crankbait scale netting

I'm trying to learn how to paint my own lures and bought some scale netting. Can someone tell me how to use it painting. It looks like the airbrush will blow it out place if its not tight on the lure, and i can't get it tight. I have painted model planes and cars for years and done pretty good, but this is a whole new ballgame and is much harder to do than I thought. I could use any ideas or tips because frankly, After white primer, my stuff looks like crap.

There are several methods you can use but I use two the most. One is strech the netting over the bait and pinch it tight along the bottom with spring type clothespins. The second is lightly strech the netting on an embroidary hoop then hold it tight against the bait while spraying.

Thanks alot for the info, I'll try it when I get home this evening. By the way I checked out your work on the link you had on the post. That is awsome work! I never expect to be halfway that good, I would just like to make my lures look decent and catch a few fish. I have tried a few times and really enjoy it, but my stuff is really bad.
