    Selling?

Anyone selling custom rods here. I am looking at buying a Drop Shot custom build rod or a rod that can cast a 1/16 or 1/8 finess spinning rod. 7' 0" or longer. How much am I looking at? Any pics?

So Russ, you have some pics that you can post. Does my height matter in terms of how long a rod I should use?

Have it built on the St Croix SC IV Blank, I believe it is 4C 69MLXF. i have built about 30 of these rods and they are about the best on the market. Any reason why you want it spinning. most people on the west coast are going to casting rods as they tend to be a little more sensative. your hand stays on the blank and you can finger the line.

    John,
That is a sweet blank. Have you ever built on either the PP7000 or PP 702 Shikari SHX blanks? Granted Shikari has been bought out now but before this occurred either of these were also really popular Dropshot blanks. And if you can still find them they can be had at unbelievable savings if your not hard on your equipment and need to worry about a warranty.

Russ, i have built a few shikari graphite rods but was about as impressed with them as i was with Rainshadow. However, they made the best composit crankin rod on the market. when i found out they were clearing house i bought all the 6 foot to 7 foot crankin rods they had. i have 23 left out of 80. someone posted some pictures of some rods i was making. there is a picture with about 10 of them on the wall lined up waitin for the guys to pick them up.

I used to build alot of lamiglass rods but about 2 years ago the IM-7s began to get brittle at the tips and we were having a 60 percent failure rate on them. the problem is still not fixed so i quite using them. however the best dropshot blank i have ever found was the med action 6 foot 8 lamiglas TI2000 titanium rod. you use a braid line with 10 foot of 6# flouro leader and a tungsten weight and you can tell if it is sand mud or rock bottom at 60 feet. i still have 5 of them that are my personal rods.
