    1987 Johnson 150GT

Hi guys, new to the forums here I have a 87 Johnson 150GT J150GTLCUR. I noticed while running the motor with the cowling off I saw water squirting form the lower portion of the external exhaust cover. Also a couple of the bolts holding the cover on had a couple drips of water coming from them as well.

I know enough about this motor to be dangerous so before diving in and trying to fix it I wanted to know if there is anything to look for while i'm in there, I ordered the 2 gaskets for the inner and outer exhaust covers (28-0321182 : GASKET,EXH CVR ) from boats.net assuming i'm going to need them anyway. Any info would be much appreciated!

You are going to have fun cleaning the parts. Just torque the bolts to spec and check them every now and then. These bolts becoming loose was a commom problem on these motors
