    Trim Question

I have a 225 HO E-Tec and when I trim it down it is very jerky and shakes the boat at idle. Any Ideas?

As a side note this motor is fantastic!!! I am still playing with the set-up to maximize performance. I also use the XD100 and am glad I made that decision.

    Re: Trim Question (Fishcrazy)

Sounds like air in the trim unit, try this, trim the motor down on a block of wood, look on the left side stern bracket there is a hole towards the bottom, there is a slotted screw in that hole, this is the manual release valve.

Turn that screw out about 5 turns counterclockwise, hit the up button (the motor should not move, if it does turn the screw out a couple more turns but not to the clip that holds it in) hold the up button for 30 seconds, then hit the down button and hold for 30 seconds, tighten the manual release valve.

If this does not fix it see your dealer.
