All white with mottled black spots. Nothing uniform all different. As far as how you do it someone else will have to chime in. maybe Blake can answer that one.

Coachdog is a solid background with random spots think of it as a dalmation pattern any colors may be used but most use white(background) black (spots)
shoot your background and then cut a pattern out of something to lay over the bait

Yep, that's the puppy! I always thought of it as kind of a "black & white firetiger" pattern. Matter of fact, two of my fav. "self made" patterns are spring- brown on yellow coachdog, late summer & fall- purple on pale chart. coachdog.![]()
Thanks for the responses guys!!! I'm gonna try to make a newer version of an OLD lure!! I'll let you all know how it works out.
