    Blank suggestion

Russ or anybody, I want to build a new spinnerbait rod for baits 3/8-1/4 in the 6'-6'2" range. I have 2 old castaway spinnerbait rods that are great action wise but old and would like to try my hand at my 2nd rod,the first rod I buit was a shikari sh3 flippin rod which was a nice blank but not as straight as I thought it would be? I have a few GLX's that I love...maybe a loomis blank??

    Stacey,

If you really like the Castaway's action they are built on Shikari blanks and its kind of ironic you mentioned it because there is a guy over on the BFHP selling the exact blanks.
    Here is the link http://www.wmi.org/boards/swap/T70257.htm

    in case your interested?

You might also want to consider a St. Croix blank...............

I have started to play around with a few of the SCIV blanks as of late and I really like them...............also the SCIII blanks are alot of blank for the $$..

Either the 3 or 4 C66MM or MF are nice.
It just depends on which you like in a spinnerbait rod ? Fast or Moderate.....

    Re: Blank suggestion (RedneckfromRI)

Shoot me an email if you want to discuss it more in depth...............

I wont be home until late tomorrow afternoon as I have a tourney that I am leaving for in about half an hour...................so I may not get back to you until Monday. Just so you know.

I will have some first hand info on the 4C66MF after tomorrow as I built myself one in spiral configuration and plan on using it to throw 1/4-3/8 oz Fish Head Spins/Super Fluke Jr.'s.........

I agree w/ Russ on the StCroix suggestion. I have been building all my rods on the SC series blanks lately. I love the SCV for liteness and sensativity however I think the SCIII or SCIV balnks make a better blade rod. They are a little slower in action. The SCIII series has a few moderate action blanks that would be great for this use.

I get all my rodbuilding stuff from Anglers Workshop. They have everything I need.
Request a catalog, they dont have all their stuff online. They have most of it though.
