The way to clean spinnerbait skirts

Just thought this might be useful for some and wanted to share something that worked well for me.

My spinnerbait box got filled with water (dont ask) and I didn't find it until some rust had begun to form. I cleaned the blades with a magic eraser but the skirts were stained and discolored. Since it was rust, I decided to try WD-40. I laid the baits out on a towel and sprained them down with WD-40. Let them set for a few minutes. held each bait up so the skirt fell below the hook. Grabbed the skirt between the folded towel and rolled it between my fingers. The skirts came out clean, hooks and components oiled. My give it a try before throwing those skirts out. Or, just send your old baits to me!
