    Who's cranking with Yo-Zuri Hybrid?

Looking for feedback. I have fished nearly every mono/copoly type line out there...but not this one. Also, is anyone using the Ultra Soft cranking as well?Looking for specific positives/negatives on knot strength, abrasion resitance, manageability, sensitivity & stretch compared to mono and fluoro...Thanks.

I usually use this line around rocks. I throw crankbaits on 10-20lb yozuri hybrid. You will notice that it's very hard to break this line. I have pulled out logs out of the water with it when my lures get stuck. It has excellent abrasion resistance, there's stretch to it but not a log like mono. The only drawback to this line is the memory, but nothing a shot of KVD's line and lure conditioner couldn't fix.

I use this line exclusively for cranking. I use 12# and can still get a 6xd to 18+ft.

The line is very strong and has above average abrasion resistance. It also is much easier to cast than floro and is still quite sensitive.

Also i've noticed the clear line has a little less memory.

I like the 8lb Smoke purple line for just about everything.

Even around rocks, never felt the need to go heavier.

Agreed with everything said above - good stuff! I typically use 10# for deep crankin' ledges, rocks, points, etc., but will often go up to 12# around any heavy weeds or other cover. If I'm throwing smaller baits (< 3/8oz.), I'll often use the Ultra-Soft version due to less memory, but usually still stick with 10#. I've used this line for over 5 years now and been very pleased with the results.

I have used this for several casting applications. It is much stronger, more abrasion resistant, and has much less stretch than mono. I used to be scared to go below 12-14 lb mono and had no problem going to the 10lb for this line. It does have a little memory but not enough to really hinder the casting performance. I would recommend this as a good replacement to the expensive floro's out there.

I tested this line in an article I wrote a while back. I really liked it and it definately overtested by almost 50% for the weights I used. 6lb 8lb and 10lb. This was standard Hybrid and you can use it on a casting rod with no issues. If you plan on throwing on spinning gear, go with the ultra soft, much less memory but you will lose some of the abrasion resistance as well.

Re: Who's cranking with Yo-Zuri Hybrid? (catchnm)

I've been using it for 3 years and like it. For cranks the 10# green works for me, but I also like the smoke when I can find it. Excellent abrasion resistance, and is about 30% stronger than the line rating on the spool. There is some memory issue (as with most non-braid line), but a spritz of line conditioner helps. I've also tried other co-poly line and, so far, have always gone back to the Yo-Zuri.

For me it's not just for crankin, I use it (12#) for spinnerbaits too and I use the Ultra Soft on baitcasters used for plastics (12# & 15#). For plastics, the sensitivity is good but not quite on par with flurocarbon, or obviously braid.
