? For guys who fish the NorthEast

When fishing some of the smaller lakes in the NorthEeast do you feel confident throwing 2.5 size square bills? Knowing we don't have quite the average fish size they have in the south, I'm haveing a hard time convincing myself to throw one this year.Always want to reach for the 1.5's. But the 2.5's seem to be the more preferred bait.I know having confidence in your presentation is a big part of fishing so I guess I just want to know if they're worth a try.
By smaller lakes I mean Candlewood,Black Lake, and some of the lakes in Maine.

im from CT, and there are LM in the that can handle a 2.5 easliy. If i was targetting smallies i would prob reach for the 1.5. Depending on where im fishing here in ct ill use larger baits. Just like there is only a few lakes i fish will i throw a 10" worm.
