What replacement hooks are you useing?

What are you guys useing when you replace your factorry hooks on traps and crankbaits? Not looking for a specific size, just brand name and the model or description. Thanks.

KVD Elite all the way. I do as he suggests and go up one size from the stock hooks.

Have always used Gamakatsu Round Bend trebles, I'm not a fan of the EWG style or the triple grip mustad, but recently I've been buying Owner trebles, haven't tried them out as much so really can't give a review but have always liked other owner hooks. But with the round bend Gamakatsu I've always had real good luck with. Quality hook at a decent price.

I won't comment on the KVD hook hype- I own a bunch but have not really fished them yet. The Owner stinger in the ST-36 (standard diameter wire) and the ST-41 (2X strong) are awsome. Lucky Craft replacement trebles are really good especially in the bigger sizes--if you can find them. Some may argue, but I am personally anti-red. They are rarely, if ever, as sharp as black nickel...and if the paint chips, they wont draw blood.

Owner ST-36 trebles for me, and definitely the black. I tried the Gammie and the Triple Grips, and after trying the round bend Owner's I found MY replacement treble.

Owners are the best I have tried. I have a few baits with KVD trebles and they seem to be pretty good so far and less money than the Owner.

owner ST-36...the 41's suck in my opinion...i made the mistake of thinking they were 36's just in a different package.WRONG! other than those lucky crafts hooks are awesome simply because they made size 3 and 5's

Haven't seen them yet, but that's good news. I'll be getting me some - who has them available?

I've tried going up in size on LC 1.5's and my hooks always get tangled up. So have to stay at the same replacement size. Are you guys having the same problem.

    Love me some Powell\'s!!!

Are you tslking about the KVDs hooking together or a different hook. They have a shorter shank that usually won't but another thing to look at is how you put the hooks on. When on the split ring, every treble can have the single hook side facing forward or backwards. You want the single hook sides facing away from each other, not toward each other. This gives the trebles less "reach" and they wont get tangled as easily. Doesn't solve every problem (if the hooks are too big) but I have had hooks that will hang together one way but not the other. Hope this helps a little.

I've been replacing mine with Eagle Claw. I've just repainted a few cranks and I'm going to put Mustad's on them and see how they do.
