Do you only use the 'o' ring when fishing a wacky rig weightless or do you use it with the weighted wacky jigs as well? Thanks.

you can use the o ring with weightless rigs as well I use it when i put weighted nails into the worm itself If I am fishing deeper water. the weighted nails will give the wacky worm a different look. You can also try and put one weighted nail into one side of the bait and not the other. This will also give a different action to the lure. I dont use the o rings when fishing with zappu wacky heads, or the flea flicker heads. I usually just put the hook through the middle of the worm itself.
I would not bother throwing a whacky rig. It dose not catch fish![]()

Thanks. That's what I was thinking, but have never wacky rigged before.

If you have never done it you need to start!!! We fished a tourney Saturday and caught about 35 fish between the two of us on wacky rigged dingers. I never did it much myself til I started fishing with my partner now. Im sold on the idea.

Kicker Fish makes a wacky rig worm that uses a regular worm hooks. It comes in all the popular colors. I use an o ring and put the hook into the Senko worm a little to keep it from getting hung up. I use it around docks on Lake Lanier right about now. Worked super in Guntersville a couple of weeks ago, but of course, everything worked in Guntersville a couple of weeks ago.

With the price of senko's so high, you usually only get one fish maybe two without the o-ring when wacky rigged. With them I can stretch it out and make it last maybe 5.
Instead of the o ring, I take a tube (similar in color to the senko I'm fishing), cut off the tenticales and rounded end. With what's left I cut into 5 pieces. It slips right onto the senko. Works great!!
Just can't leave well enough alone!!

Thats a great idea with the tubes.
I use a ring most of the time, but if I can I like to got with just a hook and weightless wacky rig it in the middle.
I use the o-rings with weightless wacky rigging and with the wacky jigheads. makes the whole package a little more durable.
I've never tried wacky before, always fished senko's Texas Rigg in weeds, rock, trees, stump but going to try wackyrigg this season and see how good it works...#1 YAMAMOTO senko

I use the wacky rig all the time. In northern clear lakes it is a great technique.
You can also use plastic shrik wrap, like what you use on electrical connections. Heat up just a little to shrink, but no hot enough to melt the worm.
Small cable ties work good also.
