    big lizzard?

does anybody throw a 8" lizzard like the one zoom makes? Im thinking of trying it as a little different look, maybe something they dont see anymore? If so what are your techniques and areas to fish it? I know people use em on a c-rig, but what about a t-rig for drop fishing? Thinking it might be a good alterative to a big worm on offshore structure...

I use the 8" mag lizzard by Zoom a good bit. I mainly fish open water structure with them on a heavy t-rig, or a c-rig. The only reason I don't use them more, is they are kind of bulky, and I find them hard to pitch into tight areas (the tail & legs will grab ahold of limbs, docks, etc on the cast/pitch). They will definitely catch fish.

cool! i would be most likely be throwing them in open water around sub. grass on channel edges so theres not much to hang up on. Thinking 5/16 or 3/8 tungsten and a 4/0 owner....Also what do you think about nipping off the back legs to give it a long baitfish apperance with the front ones moving (pectoral fins) on the fall?

Yes, the 4/0 wide gaps seem to work great for me. I have used 3/16 oz, thru 1/2 oz weighs in different situations. I couldn't say that I have ever tried experimenting with removing legs. But, the 8" mags only come (8) per pack if I remember right. On more than one occassion I have had a real good bite on a particular color, and only had one pack of them in the boat. I have had to resort to picking up the used ones from the deck, and turning them over (putting hook through backwards), and having missing legs, etc. They always seem to just keep right on catching fish that way too.

That's actually happened to me twice during tournaments that I can recall vividly. I bet I have caught 15+ fish on one poor little lizzard several times (poor little fella looked like it had been through a shredder though)!
