Double Uni knots

I add a Flourocarbon leader to my braid. I have a problem that my double uni knot breaks periodically. Is it recommended to put a drop of glue on the knot?

ive used a drop of glue and then roll it in my fingers once it starts to set. that allows the knot to glide through the guides better.

As for the breaking, I made the mistake of looping an equal # of times on each side. I have since learned to loop 3-4 more loops on the braid since it has a smaller dia. than the fluoro or mono. Havnt had one break at the knot since making that change!!! hope that helps.

Also make sure when you cinch down each knot that the loops or coils are laying flat and not overlapped. Another knot that I like is the seaguar knot I use it with 20lb fireline with 12lb fluro or mono leader real easy to tie.

If this is happening to you you are probabaly not tying ti well enough, or you just have sme bad flouro? Try a hybrid co-polymer for your leader and see if that helps...

I gave up on the uni/uni and went to the Alberto's. It is way easier to tie and a lot more dependable.

I've not had any trouble with the uni.Make sure you cinch it good and a little glue don't hurt.Good Luck
