    Fast or slow reel

I'm looking for a new reel for frog, jig, and toad fishing. What would be best a fast reel to pick up line or a slow reel for the power?

    Thanks Richie

I like a fast reel for line pickup as you can get it in quick to make the next cast. I like the slow stuff for cranks and or large spinnerbaits that need the power.

Fast as possible, preferably a 7:1. The new high speed reels have quite a bit of power available with their big gears.

    Anything over 6:1.
Jigging - All finnese.. feel the bite... then pick up your slack fast and set the hook. You will need a fast reel.

Froggin & Toadin- Most of the time you'll be in the slop. Dont let them get back down underneath or u'll hafta go in there and get'em. You will need a fast reel.

    Seems like there's a pattern!

Personally, I would go with a fast reel.
