    line survey

Just wondering what guys are using for line these days for certain application. Including brand and lb test.

flipping/pitching: trilene fluoro 17# and power pro 65#

tx rig ( weedline fishing or light cover) 12# seaguar fluoro

dropshot: 6# triplefish or 8# berkley fluoro

carolina rig (main line and leader): 65# power pro w/ 12-15# triple fish fluoro leader

    spinnerbaits: 15# triplefish copolymer

    crankbaits: 10# triplefish copolymer

topwater: 12-15# triplefish or gamma copolymer.

the reason why im asking, i have line left from last year. thats why you see the hodge podge of different lines up there. im looking to stick with one but having problems deciding and i wanted to see what works for others.
    thanks

    Re: line survey (stumpy)

    Texas rigs - 12#, 14#, & 17# clear blue florescent Sufix Elite

Carolina rigs - 20# clear blue florescent Sufix Elite and 20# moss green Trilene XT main line with 12# Trilene Sensation leader

    Jigs - 14#, 17# & 20# clear blue florescent Sufix Elite

    Crankbaits - 10# & 12# moss green Triple Fish X-Rated line

Lipless crankbaits - 15# Triple Fish X-Rated line

Spinnerbaits & Buzzbaits - 15# moss green Triple Fish X-Rated line

    Topwaters - 10# & 15# moss green Triple Fish X-Rated line

Shakey heads - 10# Berkley Vanish Transition & 8# & 10# clear blue florescent Sufix Elite

I personally use very little flurorcarbon and almost never use braid for some reason except for those rare times that I rat fish matted grass in the fall. I would use Triple Fish X-Rated line for everything but I really rely on being able to see the line for a lot of my fishing and, unfortunately, it isn't available in clear blue florescent.

    Re: line survey (AveryF)

    Frogs/Flipping - 50lb power pro
    T-Rig - 12lb pline flouro clear
    T-Rig (light) - 8lb yozuri hybrid
    Senko/unweighted plastic - 8lb pline floroclear

    Cranks/Traps - 30lb power pro on a glass rod

Drop shot - 8lb power pro with 6lb gamma edge leader.

i basically always run 8lb yozuri or 12lb pline on my baitcasters, 8lb pline on my spinning gear and some version of power-pro for braid applications.

    Re: line survey (20_lb_sack)

    Pitchin/flippin 20lb big game clear
    Spinnerbait 15lb big game green
Crankbait shallow 15lb big game green
Crankbait deep 10 lb big game green
    Buzzbait 15lb big game green

As you can see I like to use Trilene Big Game. It is a great line with a lot of abrasion resistance. My only draw back is it does have a lot of memory which is not a big problem in warm water/weather. In the winter time I switch my pitchin/jig rods over to Segaur Invesx 20 and 12lb.
