Jig on a Dropshot?

I am thinking about trying a floating Jig on a dropshot (whith heavy line). Reason is that where I fish has snot weeds all over the bottom and I can't fish a conventional T-rig or Jig. What do you think? or

Works good for prefishing. If there biting the dropshot hook I go to a regular ds. If there biting the jig, I use a shakey head riged worm. Then I fish just the worm.

I'm talking about using a regular dropshot weight because its gonna get covered with moss if its on the bottom. I need to keep my jig just off the bottom, and I thought I could do that with a floating jig and pork tied to a dropshot rig.

I have done it a little bit with big body fly. in place of the plastic bait.
