    Gambler flapp'n shad ???

I have heard that some people cut the tail of the flapp'n shad to give it some more action. Exactly how do you do this and how do most fish it. Like a jerk bait or do you swim it like a speed worm?

I had some awsome days on that bait around grass. I fish it on a 5-0 worm hook on braid and a strong power rod. I do cut the tail. The cut is like what you would see on a speed worm from Zoom.

Just make long casts on grass and fish it like a buzzbait. The tail should buzz like a buzz bait blade. Let em take it before you pull it away from them. LOL.

Producto makes a bait called the Buzz Tail Shad. I have used them with great success. Hook-up ratio is allot better than with a Horny toad or other type of buzz frog.

Or you can use the Bakubaits wakemaker which already has a very well designed slice in the tail.

The Gambler is much heavier and can be casted further that the BTS. That's my opinion though. I'm gonna try cutting the tail on the flapper. Thanks for the tip.
