Do any of you fishermen have any home recipes for catfish bait? I have tried many of the store bought bait without much luck. Chicken livers have to be bought in the amount that there is a lot of waste and comes off the hook easily. Need full instructions please.
ya know its really wierd but i have a friend who catches them off of marshmellos it works everytime for him and he catches big catfish but i've never tried because im a bass fisherman

Find a place that sells rooster liver. Its alot less mushy and will stay on the hook good. Also use a sharp knife to cut it into peices instead of tearing it apart. Another good bait is bluegill. Put cticket on a small hook throw it into cover, this is the part my 6yr old loves, you'll probably catch a bluegill everytime. Bluegill make the best cutbait for cats. If you have flatheads were your fishing use live bluegill, just don't leave your pole unatended.
when I was catfishin all the time I would spend the time to cut pantyhose and put 1/2 of 1/2 of a liver into a piece about 2''X5'' and roll it up and tie it in a knot then after all in the cup were done Id put them back into the cup of blood and leave them outside(far from the house)in the sun for anywhere from 2-4 days when they turn green and stink bad enough to where you wont touch them without gloves they are readyI have had some huge cats on them!!!!now for live bait I like Bluegills/small Crappie and cut one sidefin off and split open each side maybe cut 1/2 the tail off.
