The March meeting will feature Greg Kizewski (Kizew on here) doing a seminar on deep water smallies. We will also be voting on the 2013 Championship location. I have locked down a partner for this year also. Now I will just have to find some fish!

    Toad,

I'll give you my biased opinion as my partner and I run this circuit!!! Its a club, no one owns it, so no one is taking a profit out of it. We pay 84% at the ramp, 15% to the classic fund, and 1% for DNR fees and other business expenses. The championship, which has no entry fee paid out $17,000 last year to 12 spots. We give you a free meal at the championship, and also a free meal at the second wintering meeting. The 11 board members all pitch in and run a pretty smooth tournament. We've drawn on average more boats than any other circuit in Southern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois for at least the last 3 years. We've added several great sponsors, some offering benefits to our members. If you can make a winter meeting I highly recommend the one in March(free food and seminar). We also have a payout for Team of the Year...this year it will be $600 cash for first place....Plus a pair of SIMMS pro rain suits valued at $900 each, second place is $500 in cash, and third place is $400 in cash. Our team of the year payout is more than some circuits total payout at a tournament!!!

Plus members vote the location for the classic.

It is a fun club, and definitely has some tough competition. You usually can't just show up and fish without putting in some practice with this group (although sometimes it is better to be lucky than good). I have not fished the last three years (no partner) and miss those Tournament days. My previous partner moved up north and he says he misses the group also.
