Mechanic wanted

Maybe you guys can help. I'm looking for a good, honest Mercury authorized mechanic (dealer) in the Hampton Roads area. I tried Sanderson's, but they were unwilling to set an appointment. I don't need anything major, was just looking for some seasonal work to be done. Thanks.

Always treat me right. Don't tell him Levi recommended him or he'll charge you double

Unfortunately most good mechanics stay too busy to work off appointments. Good luck with whoever you choose!

Hey Reid, most of the seasonal work on these motors can be easily done at home, all you need is a few tools and a little advice.

Re: Mechanic wanted (Jig A Low)

Thank you for the replys. John, I replied to your IM. To set the record straight, I wasn't bad mouthing Sanderson's. I had several recommendations to use them and I know that when Pop's closed, the head wrench went to work there. Yes, most of the work can be done by me. I've done it before. The thing is, I don't like doing it and don't mind paying someone if they're good and reliable. It's close to a 2 hour run for me one way to go to Sanderson's, that, if I can make into a 1 day trip I'd do. There was no hurry on when the work had to be done. 1 week away......3 weeks away, I didn't care. Just tell me when and I'll be there. I didn't want to spend a $100 in gas and then be told I'll have to spend another $100 in a week to pick up the boat. Didn't make sense for the work that was to be done. I also wanted to establish a relationship with a dealer in case I did have major problems at some point. Anyway, they didn't want to work like that, so I wish them the best and I'll find someone closer.
