for safety i promised my wife i would not fish unless the temp was above 50 .. been in the house on n off all weekend . monday we hit a private pond besides my lake looks like a cup of coffee with cream from the winds .. dying to wet a line .. i hope to have a descent report by monday nite .. pond is the size of a football field .. there in there just hope they bite .. any body else fishing monday ?
I will be heading to Lake Smith here. Planning on spending most the day trying to break the skunk streak. Good luck and tight lines.
we had 4 fish .. fished 3 hrs .. 2 fish were 3 lbs .. lil pullage for jan 16 th .. caught on a blue n blk jig ..
I ended up going to Little Creek (across from Lake Smith) because they never opened the gates at Lake Smith for some reason. Didn't get a bite. Spent the day trying texas rigged tube, worm and creature bait. Tried a jerk bait for a little while but didn't feel right. Same thing with a spinnerbait. Used a drop shot for a while also. Then spent the last hour or so with a black and blue jig. Not one bite on anything.
Bottom line Brian is this is a tough time of year to be catching fish, especially if you don't have a couple of years experience seeing where the fish go and how they relate during these changing conditions. I've never lived and fished anywhere where I had to write down everything I learn year to year like I di here in VA.
