I'm looking at a used ranger 19ft with a 2001 Johnson 200HP I believe it's called a HP H.O. It's a carb. engine. Does anyone know anything good or bad about this motor? I'm really interested in the fuel mileage. Help please!

Catchin\' \'em Shallow, Catchin\' \'em Deep, and everywhere in between.
Just a plain old 200 to be a HO it would need to be a 225 and have a H designation in the model number. Good solid motor it is carbed and OK on gas as long as you keep your foot out of it.
Oh ok. It looks just like the Johnson H.O.s tho. So "Ok on gas"... what kind of numbers are we talking about? 3mpg? 2.25 wide open? I had a Ficht on my old boat, not that great of engine but great on gas... I garuantee it got 5+.

It won't be as efficient as the old Ficht, but more reliable......JMHO
