NO POWER?? IS IT ETHANOL??

Just started happening Last Sat around lunch. I got an 06 e-tec ho 200. Engine would crank up and idle fine, but when I started to give it gas it hesitated would not go even if you push it to the floor! Like it was flooded out trying to get up on pad but would not. If I let off and pumped the gas a few times It would finally go. I got nervous and went back to weigh in. I took the boat up to the shop Mon they changed the spark plugs and fuel filter. Hooked up the computer to it and checked the compression. they said everything showed 100% So I took it out yesterday and it started doing the same thing again.

If I cranked it up and punched it it would get up and go but if I idled with a little throttle then hit the gas it would hesitate and not go.

ALso I could not get over 5000 RPMs!!!! Or over 60mph!! I ussually am running 5800 to 5900 rpm's and running around 70 to 73mph. What the heck is going on. I have no more power!

I had the exact same problem with my 06 225ho, changed plugs and put it on the computer everthing showed to be ok, it ended up being pluged with carbon in the sensor and tube that go to the emm board from the exhaust. Hope this helps.

Do you think this might be some of the problem with some of the 250 ho"s not taking off that are on other threads on this board????

Well the shop just called me found out that the exhaust cover I guess which covers the water pump and prop shaft is cracked almost all the way around the engine. This is right below the head. They said it is going to be over $4000 in parts!! LUCKILY they told me evinrude bombardier was going to pay for the parts and all I had to pay was the labor, Thank goodness!! Anyway if anyone has ever heard of this let me know.

Exhaust housing is the correct term. I've seen it on a XL model.

Thats right the housing, has anyone else had this similar problem with the e-tec?

I had a similar problem with mine. I don't think it cracked on it's own though. There had to be other forces involved.
