1996 Evinrude 15hp Electric start

I have recently bought this engine and I want to know how the electric start works.I have 2 wires that come out of the engine but there is no key location.Do I have to install a solenoid and key ignition somewhere outside the motor.I looked inside and saw the starter but no solenoid or key or start button location. If I elect not to use electric start can I remove the wires coming out of the engine compartment for the start system?

If the wires are of a heavy gauge then they are the battery connections. Simply hook them up to a 12 V battery and push the start button.

I have searched for a start button and can,t find one.Do you know where it is?The wire gauge is probably 10 to 8 gauge
