Dang Ed! Before pulling it apart make sure it wasn't caused by something you may have hit(posssible insurance coverage). If something came apart inside you should have noticed the lower unit not acting right.

I never notived it acting odd. It must have came apart in there when I loaded it. I sent an email to Bob (WW marine ins) asking what he thought. That was late friday, so he may not have seen it yet.

I know that look. My guess is broken pinion gear which then broke the forward gear. You can see the ring on the case where it looks like the forward gear started eating aluminum. Don't ask me how I know!
