http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Bluestone pretty good fishing ,not to far away.
Isn't Stonewall Jackson lake north of Charleston? I think it's a pretty goog lake.
bluestone aint good fishin, but you will be a master jedi at finesse fishing when you do figure that lake out. Try summersville, it will actually be closer than bluestone and stone wall jackson is great also, but you cant put a fish in your livewell their unless you want to give your boat and truck to the state
Summersville is a great lake and has some great smallmouth action as well as everyother breed of bass. Almost insane how clear the water is with the 100 foot cliffs on each side is an amazing view, if you make the move i can put you in touch with a guy that knows those lakes like no other,
Very industrial along that river. I see it each time I go back home to Ashland, KY to see my wife. There are a few other places to look into as well near there, like Plum Orchard Lake and Yatesville to name a few. You might try getting ahold of some folks on the KY Board and looking for some folks in the NE KY area. There are a few SW WV folks there as well. Let me know if I can help anymore.

Meaning? Thanks!
The Kanawha is not that good of fishery. You can catch a lot of fish but most of them are going to be small(10-11 inches). Really they are not any good lakes in southern W.V., but Bluestone is one of the better ones. Also one lake to consider would be Yatesville it is in K.Y. and not that far from Charleston.
At stone wall jackson you are only allowed to catch and release. I dont know why it is that way, but it is a great fishery, with huge bass for that area, you also have burnsville up there but that is the definition of a bad fishery.
