Just given a 95 179 Pro Travis Edition with a 130Hp Johnson. It was in a barn for 10 years and all I had to do was go pick it up for free! A great boat. I put $1500 into getting the seals changed and it is a fast little boat (17.9).
I have no manual's with the boat.
I have a couple of problems: The low oil signal goes off every 40 seconds and that means the oil is low. However there is plenty of oil and it is going down as I use it. There is good blue smoke at starting. The pump unit has two copper rods going to the bottom of the tank and their is a small stainless steel disk that completes what appears to be a circuit to both polls. This circuit is not being completed as far as I can see. I don't think it is a big deal but someone reading this might.
Second; The live well is a bit of a mystery for me and it only fills to half way. The aerator units on each top side of the tank, spits a little then the circuit breaker pops. It is on the bilge line and when I turn on the bilge it will run for about 30 seconds and the breaker pops as well. It is a single tank but has a separation plate with a fill and or exit water outlet on both sides of the plate.
Also, do I need to put plugs in the live well or do the stitches under the throttle area do all the fill and drain stuff?
This panel has figures that represent the live well. One has an arrow going out of the tank (I assume that is to empty the well), it has a figure that has the arrow going into the tank ( I assume that fills the well), then there is recirculation figure. I have turned them but the tank only fills half way, yet it does drain on the empty figure.
On the console their is an aerator switch (again, it spits for a second and then the circuit breaks).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am out here in Utah (far from the real bass world I know) but the lake trout, pike and small mouth fishing is good.
Thanks,
Michael
