Update on Lea's pups ACL tear and Thanks to all

I posted here last week about Lea's pup and her acl tear. I got some really great responses...many of you took the time to contact Lea with advice and just some good old morale support....thanks all!!!

Elizabeth came through her surgery ok, but she is early on in the healing process...we took her in today to get her bandage off....turns out the tear was traumatic and there were other knee issues that had to be addressed also...

I'm pretty sure Elizabeth will be fine...Lea, I'm not so sure about!!
I keep telling her to take one of the sedatives the vet gave Elizabeth!!!!

My sweet pup tore her ACL last week. I don't think she was playing football, but it sure happened. She had extensive surgery yesterday and I brought her home this afternoon. She has several drugs, including narcotics, sedatives and antibiotics.

She is in some serious pain and is having difficulty walking and such. This is killing me!!! Prayers for a quick recovery would be great...She is my baby!!!

As you see from Joyce's post, we went back to vet today for bandage removal. E was walking, using her leg the way the vet wanted her to. When we left, she was using her leg. When we got to Joyce's house and lifted her out of the tahoe, she held the leg high and has since refused to use it at all. Additionally, she is pretty much zombied out. Very unusual for her...

I called vet and they said the knee manipulation they did today "might" have caused some discomfort. They did not say, nor did I think to ask, whether or not she was given any meds while there. The knee is very swollen. I have to call vet tomorrow to describe how she is ....

Lea you should have her cloned so I can get one. I loved the way she looked. Pretty body with an mean stance. Hope she heals quick and the knee is not another problem...Post more pics of her for me so I can show the miss's..

Mike, she has a sister who needs a good home where she will live indoors with the family. She looks like Elizabeth only a bit taller and a couple of pounds heavier. Same stance and wonderful disposition. Gorgeous! Her name is Winnie. Her owner fell on bad times and Winnie is in foster home right now. Same home I got Elizabeth from...

Ok Lea, update time!!

Elizabeth is doing well, thanks! She has an appt next week for x-rays to make sure the bone is healing properly, but if her behavior is any indication, it is fine! She is ready to run and play..and I have to try and keep her quiet!!! No easy task... The sedatives only seem to work when we are home and quiet!! Not exactly what they are supposed to do...LOL

I only hope to heck we do NOT have to EVER go through this again!!!!!

Great news Lea!

I was afraid my hound did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I think he's ok though.
