WOW what a wet day on the lake! We had a few scared off by the weather, not sure why, it was only cold, raining, and 20mph winds until 2pm, which is the time we wrapped it up. Poor Sterling sank his truck in his yard at 4:30 am so he missed out on the fun. Regardless, 6 came out to brave the weather and I think we all regreted it. Everyone bailed (pun intended) by 12 noon except two dummies which happened to be Glenn and myself. Glenn had the scales and I had the money, so you figure it out, otherwise I'd been eating a hot breakfast in Southhill by 9am! Reports ranged from 10 short fish, a couple keepers, to zero. Sounded like CB's, and the rig accounted for the most action. Glenn managed a small limit and took the pot. We didn't weigh, but appeared to be about 8lbs. This is the first time ever I think I wish I had stayed home....not bad for 20 years of fishing! I did give my Gortex rain suit its first real test. I have fished in it in the rain a couple times, but this was a wind driven hurricane. Best $225 I ever spent! Ankles and wrist got wet after a while, but other than that I was bone dry...amazing! Can't wait to kick off 2010 with the UFC! Just 3.5 months away!
