    Chickahominy

    Jerri and I got to the Rt 5 bridge at 0545 this morning. There were about 50-60 trucks/trailers in the parking area. Not sure what tournament it was but unbelievably, we never saw a boat in any of our 3-4 spots all day. We just fished the outgoing tide and had the boat back on the trailer by 12. We had 13 keepers with the best 5 at about 12-13 pounds. No big fish but some nice chunks. Jerri was throwing a Norman crappie crank all day and I was throwing plastics. Very nice day on the Chick.

    That Crappie Crank (tournament edition = larger hooks) has long been one of my Chick secrets. I owe that to watching Rick Clunn on the James River in person several years ago.
