NICE Fish..........That little guy just had to poke him in the eye!!
my dad, who was a taxidermist, mounted an NC record Marlin that weighed over 1,100 lbs...he had to have a dump truck deliver the sand to pour the plaster in to make the cast...in the back yard !!! The fish was too big to get into his studio!
A tractor trailer delivered the fish......dad and his two workers had to pour the plaster and do all the work outside in the back yard....that fish was huge!! Took all three of them to turn it over to cast both sides!
Tractor trailer came back to pick it up!!! It was displayed in a glass case in Nags Head I believe.....until a storm came through and destroyed it!!

Was that the one that was in the display case at the visitors center on the right hand side in Kitty Hawk? Was there for years, last I had heard was that some vandals broke into the case and stole the mount.... but that was many years ago. Was a big beautiful mount though, very realistic if that was your Dad's work.
I remember seeing that mount as a kid. That fish was friggin huge
