    Home-made "BassCat" pole on trailer

I don't know if you have seen some of the newer BassCat trailers, but some of them have a pole in front. When I first saw it, I just thought "WTH???". Until I started realizing all the uses.

    1) Something to hold onto while I balance my fat butt on the trailer tounge / side step.
    2) Something to throw a rope around when I'm launching alone.
    3) Something to show me where the tounge center is while I'm backing up to hitch.
    4) Something to grab ahold of when moving my boat that is much more sturdy and easier to grip than the actual trailer tongue.

So... I had a friend of mine weld me up one. I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?

    All the best,
    Glenn

somewhere on the bbc there was a guy that had came up with that idea and someone said to him How does it feel to steal someone else's idea(not saying you did but thought i'd share) AL S. even joined in on the guy. Can't remember the site. So anyway whats the cost I want one Next WEEK. IM me the price, hopefully its reasonable.

Re: Home-made "BassCat" pole on trailer (mcherry)

Sorry - Not selling them. I just had one made up for myself by a friend who welds.

I posted questions about them a while back in the BCB section, and mentioned getting one welded up. Nobody on there objected to that suggestion, and a few even suggested it. The owner of BCB even replied and told me that theirs might bolt up - to take some measurements and get back with them. I measured it, and then saw one in person at my dealership - measurements really weren't needed - it wouldn't fit anyway due to the way it bolts up and my brake actuator tounge setup. I could see that the minute I walked up to it. So the only way to get one for my trailer was to get it made.

So... I didn't "steal" anyones idea. I gave BCB full credit for the idea in that post, and the original post here. I also didn't get objections from BCB or members when I posted it on their boards.

    All the best,
    Glenn

Sorry - Please don't ask again. Last thing I need is BCB or their members getting upset. Get someone to weld one up for you.

Yeah. I know! The owners mom mentioned that the other day. I just might have to get together with the owner and slap on a fresh coat of paint for the family that is nice enough to let me park it there.

    Mike,
You might want to try this company:

    http://www.boat-board.com/

They make something similiar, but it wouldn't fit my boat.

You hanging around Glenn's barns now?

I think everyone is missing the point....Glenn listed 4 good uses for his new pole, but I think what he wants is for us to come up with even more for him.....

    For example:

    5) Helps Glenn find his trailer when he forgets where he parked.

    6) A seat for the Ramp Lady.
