Eagle Eye 9 Interference close to the transducer

I installed this on my kayak this year. I also run a 3n1 with an elite fs 9. So far the issue I am having with my eagle eye 9 is a large amount of interference from the transducer to around 10 ft forward and 10-15 ft deep. I have used it on different lakes this year with very different water clarities and seeing this everywhere. I have tried adjusting noise rejection and surface clarity all the way up to high but I still see the interference. Last Saturday I was on a lake that has around 8-10 ft of visibility. I turned my contrast down to -a2. I still had the interference and I could barely see my bait or fish.

Additionally this interference is present even when I stop sonar on my elite, and my trolling motor is not running. I do have 1 batter that powers both of my graphs, but I thought that was ok to do. At this point and based on images I am seeing others get I am wondering if I have a faulty unit. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Picture attached for reference, Hoping you can zoom in.

When you say you stop sonar, does that mean you have stopped 2D and Sidescan sonars? Most of us have learned, any broadcasting transducer will cause interference on forward sonar. Until you are sure ALL sonars are stopped, it’s impossible to determine the source of interference. But you are right, it’s not from having both power supplies on the same battery. Is the interference you see like a pulse across the screen? If so, you don’t have everything turned off. Screenshot would be better a cell phone photo is almost useless because of the glare

I was running my Eagle eye 9 live and it is on my trolling motor foot and also have a 3N1 on there ,no interference that I could see either with the sonar stopped or not stopped yesterday I wasn't really seeing a whole lot of activity though maybe the body of water I was on or the contrast was not set right just got the unit haven't spent a lot of time with it yet

Mine did this one day and the next trip out was fine. I still don't know why it happened. I would love to know also.

I have not experienced this at all with my Eagle Eye 9 Live, but I have it on its own battery and my trolling motor is on a separate battery. I couldn't tell from your post, but do you have the trolling motor on the same battery as the depth finders? Probably the easiest way to tell if it's the unit or not would be to only have the Eagle Eye 9 hooked up to the battery (don't even have anything else on that battery) and see if the problem persists. If it does, I would think you would have to have a faulty unit or a faulty transducer. If the issue goes away, then I would say you're picking up interference from the other depth finder or the trolling motor.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I was hitting stop sonar with only down and side scan showing, so that maybe the problem because I thought sonar would stop at the same time. My trolling motor is running off of a separate battery, only my two graphs share a battery. I will post back once I have played with the different ideas and let you know if I found a fix or not.

Just an update. I got out this Saturday. Turning off both DS and 2d helped little but the interference was largely still there. I turned down my sensitivity more and got it to go away but my picture was awful and I could barely see fish and my bait.

Since I can't really see the pic very well Try a screenshot next time so the reflectiong of the Shooter does not block out the image. Does the noise happen when the TM is running and stop with it off?

Do I need a card in the graph when I take a screen shot? Ill try to get a screenshot next time out. The interference in question is in the top left hand corner of the screen

I am seeing the interference both times, trolling motor on and off.

Now that you've mentioned a specific area of the screen where you're seeing the interference. I get interference in the same area of the screen, and I have my transducer mounted on a separate pole mount that puts the Eagle Eye's transducer about 16 inches away from my trolling motor. I have an Elite FS 7 at the bow running an HDI transducer.

I don't find the interference in that area of the screen a problem at all. It extends no deeper than about 5' and no further forward than about 5'. I notice it a little bit more interference on the Eagle if I am running the Elite on high chirp, versus when running it on down imaging, or just standared 2D.

Im running mine on a separate pole as well. So my interference is where yours is, but it goes a little further out and a little deeper. You can see it in the picture I posted if you look close, but it goes around 20 ft out and 15 or so ft down. When Im fishing shallow or the fish are close to my boat it can really get in the way.

Ive tried having everything else turned off other than the eagle eye and still see it. Wondering if its just how the unit works

I have mine mounted on a separate pole on my kayak and it does pick up the trolling motor shaft unless it's pointed off to the sides. For me the trolling motor shaft shows up much more solid than what you are seeing and it doesn't extend out nearly as far or down nearly as far as you are seeing. I still think you either are getting some type of interference or you have a faulty transducer or head unit. One other thing I thought of was to check and see if you have any major kinks in the transducer cable that might cause pinching of the wires. I'm not sure if that would cause what you are seeing or not, but it would be something else you could check.
