Help, 250 Pro XS won’t start / blowing ignition fuse

    2B572121

We were on the water yesterday running and a few beeps came in but no faults / alarms on Smartcraft. Ran a little further and the motor sputtered and shut down. Some smoke came from under cowling for about 2-3 seconds. Tried restarting and nothing. Fuel pump kicks on, starter engages, and motor turns over.

When I got home I noticed the ignition fuse was blown. Replaced. Blew again.

Bad coil / ignition module. Blew the ignition fuse and that's what stopped the motor.

Should be able to replace that ignition coil, the fuse, and inspect connectors for any melting/damage.

Yes sir. We did. Seems to be working correctly again. Heard of any ignition coils going bad? 608 hours on the motor.
