    What happened to short sleeves?

I like to scan the video galleries after Elite/MLF events because I am a recap viewer vice watching for endless hours. What happened to the short sleeved fishing shirts fishing from decades ago? Why does every pro fishing look like it is 30 degrees out from bibs to long sleeves? Is it more advertising space or something else? For me... I would go nuts wearing pants and a long-sleeved shirt all day.

True - just buried my 45 year old healthy cousin from cancer. Cancer is real but these days elite folks fishing look like astronauts. My grandfather passed four years ago at 94 and never put sun screen on.

Because every human is a unique organism. Dose/response is a thing but each individual responds differently.

My mom died at 48 and I had a number of friends die before they hit 50. I watched a CBS Sunday Morning show today interviewing 5-6 people that were over 100 years old.

I still have a closet full of them. That’s why they make 50 grade suntan lotion

I go to the dermatologist twice a year, most of the time they burn something off my arms, head and face. I wear shorts all the time never had anything burnt off my legs. I wear long sleeves with a hood and gloves don't bother me at all. I don't care to much for a buff but if I don't have a hooded shirt on I wear one.

I hate sunscreen…. I hate sunburn…. The answer? Invest in spf clothing…. My hooded fishing shirts are not hot…. I can wear them when it’s 100 degrees…. I have the pants too… I won’t wear that goofy Randy Howell hat tho…. Ball cap with hood is fine…. I don’t always put the mask up this time of year yet but I will once it’s full blown summer and I’m back fishing all day…. The sun in the marsh is very unforgiving!!

I don’t have gloves but I should…. My shirts mostly all have the sleeves long enough to cover most of my hands..

At 52 i've already had to have things burned off my face. Additionally some of the meds I take make you burn easier. So its long sleeve shirt with a hood, gloves and a boonie hat to protect my ears. Top of my feet burn easy so rarely wear flip flops anymore either. Ties certainly change.

I like wearing hooded sun shirts. I feel much less fatigued at the end of the day (and yes I wear shorts and flip flops but spray sun screen on).

I don’t get the whole bibs deal. It can be 80 degrees and guys are wearing bibs in the morning looking like they’re crab fishing in Alaska. They’re bulky and hot.

id much rather wear hiking/back country rain gear that’s more breathable, lighter, and lasts just as long. And I don’t look like im ready to go snowmobiling in the dead heat of summer..

but if the pros do it then I guess folks feel the need to look the part otherwise people will question if they’re bass anglers or bank trash

Have you seen any of those guys in person? You can clearly see the Sun impact.

I wonder if people that wear sunscreen have a higher cancer rate than those that don’t?

I think it was Matt Herron that just had some pretty major skin cancer surgery...
I've been fighting 3 different cancers for the last year..I wish I had been a little more diligent in minimizing my exposure to some toxins..
If wearing a long sleeve shirt means less chunks of my body being cut off..I'm all for it..
