What's going on with the carrier Truman and possibly one other carrier? I know one was shot down, but the other three makes me feel like something mechanical or sensors off kilter! I remember steam driven cold cats were gonna happen at times.
But missing the traps going in the drink is more of a pilot error, even at full throttle there are split second maneuvers the pilots have to deal with, especially when bolting
That one emergency maneuver is the blame of the Captain. That had to be at the least 14 degree of listing, even during fair seas it was always about keeping a level deck while moving aircraft around the deck.
Someone is going to get the old Heave Hoe to a a land base or a discharge.
During conflicts and wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan and Iraq the profissioncy of everyone involved was always stellar.
I flew off of the FDR back 1971 with the standard flight package and the landing was what the pilot called a bullseye. I'm baffled by what is happening, during the Iraq War planes were being launched in minutes.
I saw aircraft coming in for fire support from carriers within ten minutes, depending upon the carrier's position and actions
I was the Marines and calling for support was the Marines air wings priority.
I guess we'll have to wait to for the investigations announcement.
