Bass Cat Question - Not a complaint

Was curious if Bass Cat still sends out a personal letter from Mr. Pierce after a boat purchase. I bought a P4 in 2012 and received a hand written letter thanking me for the purchase/welcome to the family followed by a jacket in the mail. I was so impressed I still have it framed up at the camp and when people ask about it I explain this is how the world used to be when there was real customer service. I bought a Caracal STS late last season and haven't seen one so just curious if the practice continues. Again - not a complaint, just curious. Thanks

My current boat, a 2022 Cougar, purchased form Sherm, came with a note from Rick, and a gift certificate, as they were out of jackets at the time. My 3rd BassCat and didn't need another jacket. It did take a while to get it though.

A couple months after my purchase of my 2025 Puma STS, I not only got a hand written card from Rick Pierce, but he somehow knew either from my dealer, or my participation here on bbc that I was a long term Ranger owner, in his message he remarked on some brand loyalty statistics, and how switching brands is a pretty big deal among bass guys. As simple of a gesture as a personal thank you is, it is very unexpected in this day and age. I was highly impressed by the personal involvement of Rick Pierce.

Have you dealer notify him. Rick calls me 2 or 3 times a month to see what I am doing fishing. I was very flattered until I found out he was calling so he would know what not to do.

Listen to how awesome this is. I bought a used one, after almost pulling the trigger on a brand new one. The used one had 100 hours plus already rigged with graphs that I wanted. Regardless, I received a letter from Rick along with a couple lures, and a sweet knife. You couldnt ask for better than that!!

I wasn't concerned about not receiving a letter and jacket after I bought my boat, but I found it odd that I didn't get anything after several months. I called BassCat and just asked them to confirm that they had me as the owner of the boat for warranty purposes, etc. Nope - my dealer never sent it over. It was an honest mistake - it just fell through the cracks. After they got it sent, I received a letter and jacket. Nice gesture.

I say all that to say... you may want to follow up and make sure they have you as the buyer.

Appreciate all the feedback. Did mention it in passing to my dealer when I had the boat in for some work this winter and I guess he didn't follow up. I'll give them a call for the warranty concern; hadn't thought of that that. Thanks

Every jacket on a retail boat should have a letter accompanying it. Promotional boats of any type and some demos do not receive a letter.

BCB - thanks for the info. How could you tell if a boat was a promo? Would that include the Caracal STS which had a rebate last year?

No, the rebate has nothing to do with it other than a Promo/Demo would not normally be eligible for a rebate.
