    (Seat) Motor kill switch

Will the boat industry ever go to a kill switch in the seat like a lawn mower. If the boat is in gear and you get off the seat the motor dies. Idol it will be fine. No kill switch lanyard needed. I agree more switches are not a good thing. Thoughts????

There is one lake that I fish with lots of standing timber in some of the coves, some of which is barely covered with water. If I'm in those areas I will stand up, with the boat in gear, and navigate through and around that timber in order to get back in there. So having the motor cut off, if I'm not sitting in the seat, would not work for me.

Will the people so worried about safety policies ever realize that society cannot be regulated to perfection? It does not exist.

Pick a side man. Do you want the driver to occasionally creep up and look over his graphs or not?

That would be the 1st thing I bypassed when I got the new mower home. I agree can only do so much to protect stupid people from themselves.

Never work ina Skeeter. Lol. And we all know why!

nothing turns a skeeter into a swimming pool faster than killing the motor and coming off plane. Haha.

When running rough water the last thing you need to worry about is the butt switch shutting off the motor or doing the split second off/on like what we've all done on a lawnmower. I'll bypass the reverse shutoff on a mower but a close call almost falling off the mower in a ditch was enough to leave the seat switch alone.

A big huge yes if they are Wi-Fi. Sure be fun to see them hacked and shutting down the ickwad that’s blasting by inside the no wake buoys. Tournament guys would love them. Someone gunning for your spot, shut them down. Quite a few uses actually. In all seriousness, why would we need that? Impractical when operating a boat. Would create another safety hazard not allowing the driver to stand in situations like fog, navigating shoals and boat launch/retrieval.
If I looked good in spandex and my boats paint had glitter, I’d fish for bass.
Luckily the Crappie, Stripers and Tuna don’t seem to care.............. BigBry
