What's the LEAST gear a co-angler has shown up with?

What have you witnessed? One rod? Lunch bag of rubber worms?

I once had a guy show up with only a bag of donuts and milk. No kidding! But it didn't upset me at all.

Backstory: It was my 2nd year fishing with the Camp Pendleton Bass Anglers. I had posted online about events, passed out fliers, etc. to get our name out there. One of my fliers I posted at the Camp Pendleton bowling alley. I got a call from a Marine fresh out of boot camp. He was waiting for his gear to be delivered, but wanted to go fishing. So I took him with me. To this day, he and I remain friends and talk just about monthly.

Hell, I even trusted him so much, I let him borrow my boat to fish an event I couldn't. He weighed in an 8 lbr. AHAHAHHAHA
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!

3 packs of smokes, one mountain dew, one sammich, a chair to sit down, 1 spinning rod, 2 bags of yum dingers and a pack of wacky rig hooks. He got a nice check.

I showed up with 2 rods/reels (1 baitcaster with a brown/purple jig with a brown trailer and one spinning setup for dropshot), a fanny pack with 4 bags of roboworms, ds hooks & weights, sandwich bag with extra jigs & trailers, and few shaky heads. Fish were dialed in on a certain color worm and there was a mid-day jig bite producing bigger fish. Also included was a small cooler/lunchbox with 4 frozen water bottles, one can of Mtn Dew, and 4 sleeves of peanut butter crackers.

Guy who was a legend local on the Tidal Potomac, would show up with 3 rods, 1 360 box. the 360 box was not stuffed. Had
2 extra popping frogs, 2 extra chatterbaits, 2 extra Manns minus 1's, a few different colored trailers for the CB's
and that was it. And then he would put on a show. We won 2 St. Judes Classics in July when there would be over 100 boats.
    RIP Mike Chipouras....great human being.....

My Pops on the Wednesday evening tournaments we used to fish together had a bag of motor oil worms in one pocket and EWG hooks and slip sinkers in the other pocket and 1 rod. He usually caught more than I did.

My regular Crappie partner and I both show up with bare minimal stuff usually one rod and a couple of drinks, Both of our boats have enough stuff, I hate to have to walk all over a crowded boat.

My tournament partner who is now deceased (Rob Shaw) would show up with one rod and a small paper sack. All he threw were Slider worms. He was a Stick.

Literally had a guy fish with me in a Redman ( BFL) event on Ky lake in the early 90's .. Showed up with two rods and a Walmart bag. Said he forgot his tackle bag at home and ran to Walmart and picked up a couple of things after the pre tournament meeting. I could tell the guy was not a real serious tournament angler. There to have a big time.. I offered him use of any tackle out of my boxes. Outcome.. Every stop I made, as soon as I started catching them, he would sit down and tie on (out of my boxes) whatever I was catching them on... stand up and catch a five pounder. It was the damndest thing I'd ever seen... It was offshore season and they were chomping, I was catching them like crazy.. but every single stop I made he'd catch one fish.. A great big one. He won the co-angler side.. with 24 + lbs I didn't even cash a check with 18. That was a walk of shame at the weigh in line. Nonetheless a great memory.

1995 I fished a fundraiser with Tommy Martin. I ran off and left every bit of tackle sitting in my shop. I only had one rod that was rigged with a black/blue Stanley Jig with smoke blue fleck trailer. Wore the fish out from the back of Tommy's boat. Culled every fish he caught. We won the Toruney.
