LVS 34 Depth Not Working Correctly

I noticed that my LVS34 was showing the wrong depth last time I was fishing. I was in 4 feet of water, and it was showing 7 feet of water. Sometimes it would correct itself when I moved the trolling motor but not all the time. What could be the cause of this? I've had this setup for 3 years. I didn't move or change anything, so I'm confused why this is happening now. Any suggestions?

I think mine is doing the same. I just did a software update and installed a new Fish Obsessed Dominator mount. Anxious to see how it works this weekend.

shallow soft bottoms seem to make this occur for me. You also must have the flattest of the 3 surfaces on the transducer (there are 3 each at different angles)
    parallel to the bottom.

Mines terrible in shallow water I shut the depth reading off because I have another graph beside it with depth and contour

Leave mine disabled in anything less that 3-4 feet.

My LV32 did it and my LV34 does it when its about 4-5' or less. Think its just the nature of the beast.

I leave all the over lays off and look on the left side of the screen in forward for depth.

I just turn the Depth overlay off.. You can pretty easily see the depth below the transducer by just viewing it on screen.
