Two questions - loose drain and loose handle/rail

Boat is a 2023 Puma STS.

First of all.. these aren't complaints. Just minor things on a 2 year old boat.

    A couple of questions...

    1. The cover for the drain in my Puma STS comes loose periodically. It's not bad, but enough that it rattles when running at speed. I tighten the screws, and it's good for a while.. but the screws work themselves loose again. I put blue Loctite on the threads last time, but that didn't help. Presumably because the threads are just in fiberglass and not metal. Any solutions to stop the screws from loosening? I don't like the thought of having to turn screws into fiberglass constantly. I'm afraid the fiberglass will get worn and the screw will no longer bite.

    2. The handle/rail (above the rub rail, with the lights inside) is slightly loose on the port side. It's just enough so that it wiggles slightly when you hold on to it. I can see 4-6 small screws underneath. I checked them, and they're all very tight. Is there something else I'm missing?

I tried lock tight also and they came loose again. Second try I cut and added foam weatherstripping on the back side edges of the meta drain plate, then put a dab of marine silicone on the threads of the screws before tightening back up. That worked. Foam helped insulate the vibration that was likely working the screws loose, silicone keeps them where they should be. Probably less likely to happen with a carpeted cockpit (muffles vibration )but the reflex does have some advantages.

sorry I’m no help on the handrail, have not experienced that.

Urethane in the screw holes will prevent them from backing out.

The billet aluminum rails are stud mounted from the back side. See if you can wrangle around and reach them, or have your dealership tighten them up and we will give them advice through the Service Dept.

Thanks. I only looked on the bottom for the screws. I just noticed the others on the back.
