    21' Phoenix models

    Hi all,

Thinking about replacing my Ranger Z521C. Looking at the Phoenix website I see various 21' models including the Elite, Elite II, XE, PHX, and Pro XP. But only the Elites and the XE have a "build" selection.

So are the real choices between the Elite, Elite II and the XE? Looks like Elite and Elite II are the same just the front center compartment layout is different. What is the difference in the Elite and XE hulls? Thanks for any info.

Those are all 921's. They're are different top caps and a couple different hulls as for as depth. The 721xp is 7" shorter I believe. Is another option still.

I would take a visit to a dealer with the 21xe, 921, 920, 721zxl in stock if you can. I did just that this winter and plan to buy something come fall. You can look at the website and get an idea of them, but after looking in person at them side to side, it gave me a better idea of what I wanted. The xe is designed for rough water. The 921 series is also good in rough water but just a little different hull. The 721 is more narrow hulled and slightly under 21 feet vs the xe and 9 elites.

I own an Elite and an XE both 25 models and the XE is a little better ride in rough water than the elite. The elite is certainly faster than the XE, I’ve been asked several time which boat do you prefer? I tell them flip a coin, they are both excellent and you can’t go wrong with either.

I watched a review of the 721 by Weidas marine on you tube, they included dimension comparison of old vs new 721 front deck.

I sold my 2020 921 ProXp and just bought a 721 ZXL. Primarily because I wanted a little faster boat. I don't feel like losing 7 inches off the front deck is going to make a huge difference in ride or big water capability. I've ridden in the original 721 in big water and it is very capable.

Both great boats as far as ride - the biggest difference is room at the pedestal with a bunch of rods on the deck.

I have a 21 phx and I absolutely love it. I ran a 721 and loved it also it was allot faster boat but the big water ride in the phx it top notch. I was worried a little about loosing a ton of speed but I can consistently get 70-71 running a 12 inch atlas and 23 fury tournament load full tank of gas. That’s plenty fast for me with the little better ride. Also allot more deck room.
