There are a few guys on here that are (or have been) running them as well. Let's see if we get him some responses on this website....

Yes it works. The ACU is really mostly a stock replacement ECU. I know of one being used on a 200efi with no problems for several years. As far as performance, his acceleration improved but top end stayed right around the same. It was a straight up plug in installation. Tony Brucato, the owner, will answer any questions you may have - he's a good guy and likes BBC members as well as scream 'n fly guys.

ran one a few yrs., gave me great fuel economy as it allowed me to adjust flow rates so it wasnt running fat, i would not hesitate to run another.I think it saved me 10-15% on gas compared to stock ecu on a 225 pro max

I have been running the Brucato ACU since 2006, like the above post , it has allowed me to "clean up the mixture low mid ,and high speed.
runs very well on my stock 1996 200 efi.
still running with zero failures .

i have been running one for a few years on a 200 promax and also a 260 with no problems. it doesn't run fat like the stock ecu does. to me it was a very noticable difference as soon as i put the acu on and started the motor, the motor sounded a whole lot crisper. the throttle response was better, also gained 200 rpm on the top side. i would recommend them. Tony and Linda are great people to deal with and will go above and beyond to help you out.

So were both you and hirks running one with the remote steamwheel so you could adjust your fuel mixture while running?

no I had dual exhaust probes with a gauge, I set the acu based on temps and did visual plug checks for rich/lean.

Are most of you guys running the Brucato ACU or the Brucato PCU? I thought only the PCU could use the steamwheel?

the deluxe/advanced ACU with the wiring pigtail is for the steamwheel, works really well on the older 2.4 lasers and bridgeports,PM's,,,,,,,,,,the PCU is the the performance programmable unit with software management options.

I've built a few 200 EFI's that are using the Brucato ACU and most have had good luck with the transistion...I find they work best on 225 Pro max.. Dunno why !

Tony and Linda are great people, I had no luck at all with the ACU, (two of them) for my 200 EFI. Tony refunded my money and I ended up getting the stock ECU re-programed by Simons. Works great now. Before anyone suggests I am bashing or didn't know how to set up the ACU, I hauled it half way across Texas to see Jay and Scott Jordan for expert help. Was determined it was the ACU after a full day trying to figure out why this motor was not performing like it should. Something about it just didn't like my 200. If I had a Promax 225, I think Brucato has those dialed in perfectly. Even though the ACU didn't work on my motor, I was very impressed with the customer service by Tony and Linda and trying to get it figured out, then his willingness to give me a refund.

Chris's report is 100% accurate. The only thing that made his JSRE modified 200 "light up" was the addition of the stock recurved Simon ECU... Could not keep #4 injector from flooding with the ACU attached tried 2 of them , the Mercury box as said lit it up !!!!!Linda an Tony worked with him until they refunded his money .. As always Brucato best service after the sale on the planet...

My 93 XRi 150 was randomly shutting off at wot like switching the key off or pulling the kill switch.
I’d come to a stop, shift to neutral and it’d fire right back up. Sometimes it would be fine for the rest of the day, sometimes it would do it 4-5 more times that day.
Sent them my ECU and they said the fuel pump driver was on its way out and the ECU was shutting down in a protection mode.
Installed their ACU back in 2019 and it’s been fine ever since and never ran better!
