Gas pump shuts off at $

Anyone have the pump shut off at a set gallon or $ amount? I have had to go inside when paying at the pump to complete a fill up on the truck and boat.

A local station will shut off at $50 no matter what. If you need more you have to swipe your card again.
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Varies by station, some do $100 pre-auth, some $75 or $50. You can always go inside and have them put $120 or something on the pump, it should refund the difference when you hang up the pump.

We have one that holds $800 when you fill up (paying at the pump).....I kid you not and I didn't realize it until the second time I filled up there because I was seeing autodrafts in my debit card account where it was pulling money from my saving into my debit account the only two times I used that gas station. I called the bank and they gave me the details on what was happening. I won't be using that station any time in the future.....and I have no idea why they hold that much? They have a few diesel pumps for semis but other stations don't hold that much?

Our only non ethanol pumps shut off at $75. It is annoying.

Shuts off at 100, truck takes 130 to fill... absolute absurdity considering I prepaid with a card.

Our pumps shut off at $100. If you need more you can either go in and pay or just wait until the screen clears and swipe the card again.

I’ve never had that issue. Most fuel any of our vehicles held was like 24.6gal tanks, but never ran them dry

Lots of them shut off at 100 here. Around 160 to fill if completely empty

From what the local fuel pump tech working on one told me a while ago, the limit is set by your debit/cc carrier. He could be wrong but I called my cc and they set the limit to $150.

I've had times where trying to reuse the same card at the same pump results in the transaction being denied, but if I pull to a different pump at the same station & use the same card the transaction goes thru.

Heard the same....... Had a company card that would shut off at $75, now my new card, same pump doesn't shut off.

There a certain stations around here that shut off at $100.00. I avoid those, plenty of other places to purchase gas that do not shut off.

Yes but I have not had it happen in a while. When gas was $4 a gallon it happened frequently.

Whenever this happens I just put in another card and finish fueling up. If I have to go inside to pay I go somewhere else.
