SI range and detail loss after 3n1 to hd 3n1 change

Made the change from a carbon 12/3n1 to a pro 12/hd3n1. Finally got a chance to fish for a few days...down imaging is greatly improved. 2d is good as well. I'm still trying to figure out the si. Probably 60% of the screen is really dark and the detail is greatly reduced from my 3n1. Same jackplate mount, same angle. I have another transducer, I'm considering changing them out this afternoon. I am running 25.1. Any ideas?

If you are running it 1.2Mhz you'll get more detail but it is a darker picture. Switch it to a lower Mhz if you aren't going pretty slow.

Don't think that's it. I usually run si on 455k. Tried all the settings, 455 and up along with different contrast settings. Thanks for the help though.

While changing out this hd transducer I noticed the sides of my jackplate mount top piece come down a little farther than the 3n1 top piece did. Any chance this could effect the side image?20250418_073026.jpg

I certainly would expect it would. Maybe put a spacer in there to lower the transducer to clear the edge.

I'm experiencing the same problem and using the same bracket that came with transducer. Following

Remove that bracket and see what happens. The crystals are bring blocked on each side of that bracket. I have x rays of many of these transducers so that bracket can be the issue.

I cut the bracket off right below the screw holes. No change. Even on 455k the detail from 40 ft and in is ok, I wouldn't say it was better than the original 3n1. After 40 ft. It's definitely not as good. Dark, very little detail. Is anyone else experiencing this experiencing this or maybe there's something I haven't got right on the pro/ hd combo?
