    250 pro xs

Son just bought motor ser # 2B523415, can yall help tell the limiter and what fuel he needs to be running 87 or 91 recommended. Sportmaster lower says 1.75 but I'm not convinced on that based on small pitch prop it's pulling but I can turn flywheel and confirm that. Thanks in advance

Octane is right- RPM info is technically right but doesn't paint the whole picture.

These engines use Engine Guardian- and thus WOT RPM's may be limited earlier, or even later than a published specification, depending on numerous parameters (including LOAD and the speed at which the engine is accelerating).

In very low load scenarios- you may be rev limiting before 5500RPM's. And in perfect conditions with a very careful climb to WOT, you may be able to exceed 6200.

As Joe suggested: Prop it for the lowest slip you can achieve in the 5850-6050 RPM range and you'll be real close to your peak speed threshold.
